Probably a bit. It’s certainly taken over my working life, I can’t really imagine not working in science.

I do other stuff outside work though and think I manage a pretty good work/life balance. I try not to talk about work too much outside work and don’t read many science books outside work.

I wouldn’t say science has taken over my life but it is true that I start thinking of science even when I’m doing science. For instance when I’m following a recipe, sometimes I will think about how similar is to following a protocol for an experiment. It is also inevitable that when I go out with friend who are also scientists, we could be talking about something totally random but somehow accidentally relate it back to science, but it’s cool!

      Hi Georgina,

It certainly has taken over my working life. Although I try to stick to non science things at the weekend e.g. dairy farming.

Some friends and family are always asking me interesting questions and i am always eager to help 🙂 Although I do have to remind them that I am not a medical Dr lol
