In so many ways! For example, getting up in the morning and switching on the light involves so much science: including the discovery of electricity; the invention of the lightbulb; all the stuff on how the electricity was produced; and then there’s all the advances in each of these things. The electricity could be from a coal, nuclear or renewable source. The light bulb might be a new energy saving light bulb and even the switch might be a dimmer. It’s all science. Even reading a book required the invention of the paper, ink and printing press – all science. Recent science has given us colour LCD screens in smartphones, 4G mobile connections, white LED lights, new cancer treatments and genetic testing.
