The brain controls our body by sending out electrical signals through its neurones to the parts of the body it wants to move. The brain also controls the release of hormones which are signalling proteins that travel to our organs and instruct them. For example, there are hormones which tell our body to grow or tell the stomach that we are full or hungry.
