• Question: Do all cells release Interferons or just some cells?

      Hey,

      Not every single cell releases Interferons– however quite a lot of different cell types do. Cells that release Interferons include the epithelial cells (our barrier cells), B-cells (one of the key immune cells) and Natural Killer cells (another key immune cell).

      Similarly not all cells respond to Interferons. Only cells that have the Interferon receptors which can bind and sense Interferons will be sensitive to its’ effects.
