• Question: do you agree when people say that all scientists are boring and geeky and you cant have a laugh with them

      I disagree with this statement. Most scientists are intelligent and educated people. They just have their own sense of humour that most other people do not understand. If you put two scientists together, they will surely find a common ground to have fun on 🙂

      Hi Ella,

      Nope, I definitely don’t agree! That’s a stereotype that developed ages ago and is still hanging around. We’re actually just a very normal bunch of people– probably very much like you– we all have our hobbies and favourite things to do. For example in amongst the scientists I know we have people who go sailing, play musical instruments, do comedy, do part-time journalism… And from my experience we definitely do like having a laugh!

      No, some scientists are very funny and most are up for a laugh. But like most sets of people you can think of we are all different!

      Hi Ella,

      Scientists really are just like “normal” people. We may of course be more educated and willing to work hard at school and university, but my experiences are that scientists are not unusually boring or geeky compared to any other profession.

      My colleagues believe I am the joker of ther party and I am always up for the laugh ocaasional weekends 🙂
