I think it depends on what sort of scientist you want to be. If you want to do research science then going to university to study science is definitely the best way in, but there are jobs within science that don’t require you to have a degree. However, going to university is a great experience and if you think that it might be for you, then I encourage you to go.

Your careers advisor at school is probably a good person to talk to.

I would say definitely yes, not only because you get a scientific degree from the university, but mostly because the university will open your horizons, you will learn and experience many new things in science, you will talk about and share ideas with other people there, you will see very good lab facilities. In general it is a great experience, if you want to follow this career path.

I think it is important to have a detailed knowledge of science so a degree is important! Also to be a real scientist you should have contributing significantly to scientific by publishing a scientific study and have a higher degree PhD/DPhill
