I find that music helps me focus on work as it drowns out background noise and conversation when I need to intensely focus! I tend to put on albums that I’m really familiar with like The Killers, The Strokes, Muse, Phoenix…

However I know a lot of people that prefer to work in silence and believe music is a distraction for them! So it’s all personal preference.

I often listen to music. It depends on what I’m doing though. If I’m trying to understand something really complicated then I probably need quiet, but if it’s more repetitive stuff I’m doing then music’s really important.

On Friday I was very much enjoying Singles by Future Islands.
