Cancer comes from our own cells.
Our cells are the building blocks that make up all of our organs.
Our DNA contains the instructions that tell the cells what to do.
Sometimes, the DNA can become severely damaged and produce faulty proteins. The faulty proteins can cause numerous diseases. Cancer occurs when proteins that regulate cell division are damaged, hence causing the cells to divide uncontrollably and results in a big lump of cells called a tumour. The cells in the lump can break away into the blood and start forming tumours in other parts of the body. This is cancer, and these lumps and tumours wreak havoc in the body, stopping the organs from working properly and thus making people very ill.
