I used to make notes on the stuff I needed to know and spend as much time as I need to making sure I understand all the science at this point. Then I made notes on the notes and then notes on those notes. Then I did as many practice exam questions as I could find. Make more notes and stick facts of the back of the toilet door on post-its.

      Don’t forget to sleep…

The most important thing for me was the past exam papers. The questions are usually quite similar year after year and they help you practice writing answers in the way you need to for the exam.

I also really enjoyed making mind maps and using coloured pens to make posters. Mostly I would summarise things with lots of arrows and getting rid of as many useless words like ‘a’ and ‘the’ so that they don’t cloud the important words and they are quicker to read through just before the test. Then stick the posters around your room so you will always see them.

The important thing for me was to fully understand what I study and not learn it by heart. I rewrote what I needed to learn in my own way on a notebook. Then, I would practice a lot by answering questions, solving problems and past exam papers. If I realized that I didn’t understand something, I would go back to the book and my notes, and write new notes again.
Every person has its own efficient way to study, so find the way that best works for you and go for it 🙂
